'Tis done. Bump stop's turned up, so it can all go back on the car. I have a suspicion I've been bullied...... Chris.

Encouragement now definitely required.
Got the suspension housing mounted this afternoon, coupled everything up, stuck the wheel on and put her back on the ground. Started pumping up the suspension, so far so good. She started to rise and then there was a pop. I stood back, expecting the o/s side to sink back towards the floor - except - it didn't. The n/s dropped a bit and stopped. Fluid under the rear suspension housing suggests that the repaired displacer we did on Sunday has failed. Seeing as I was on the job, I blew the o/s up anyway. That seems to be standing correctly and not leaking. Giving it a good bounce reveals the absence of "clack". That's the good bit then. The back of the car is now back up in the air and I've started removing the n/s suspension housing. Again.
Le lapin est suicidaire.
Chris.

Oi! I'm still here, you know. Appreciate the levity. It's been a frustrating week to say the least. Spent Friday over in Preston shunting cars round a barn. The back section of the exhaust decided it would like to trail along the M62 on the way back. 3 of the 4 poly mounts have failed and the exhaust is now held on by sections of wire coat hanger. All appliance engineers carry a wire coat hanger as an extraction tool for fishing under washing machine drums.
Anyway, Halfords tomorrow and find some rubber ones. Then I'd better get on with this one.
Chris.

I am very happy. I repeat, I am very happy. Displacer replaced, housing refitted, car now standing nicely. Tomorrow I shall go for a drive. This is the one that blew. Gone at the push-rod end. You can see what look like cords poking out at the 12 o'clock position. Exhaust re-hung on the Red Dog with the finest quality Halfords rubber bobbins. Everything is back in order and the world is good. Chris.

Rather worrying degradation at the push rod end? Happy to hear the world is good! David This is the one that blew. Gone at the push-rod end. You can see what look like cords poking out at the 12 o'clock position. Everything is back in order and the world is good. Chris.
