Kiwicrab recently posted a photo of his stock of displacers and I realised that we don't appear to have any technical guidance as to how best they should be stored. I do not know the answer but hopefully someone here can advise.
Here are some thoughts:
If they are stored dry then this should help prevent deterioration of the metal components but perhaps this is not ideal for the rubber. Should some form of rubber conditioner be considered?
If they are stored wet then it would appear sensible to replenish the rust inhibitor in the hydrolastic fluid
I have seens some suggestions that it is preferable to keep them under load. If you have then on a donor car(s) this is not an issue if off the vehicle then some consideration would need to be given as to how to achieve this.
Is anyone aware of guidance on this from ADO16 or other vehicle clubs?
