Well it had to come: another one to add to the fleet! Kevin is a 1979 HLS. Always wanted another Maxi. We have had two a blue 1500 and a targa green 1750HL. This one turned up relatively local and has had one previous owner from new. Needed a couple of patches on the inner rear wheel arches and a bit of welding to the bulkhead, but only thing stopping it getting an MOT now is the emissions. Fitted a couple of new air filters (he has twin carbs) and turned the mixture down a flat. Hoping he will pass tomorrow.

Well done Keef - at last! - a Maxi on the forum. I can see him becoming F'n Kevin when he misbehaves. Rolling restoration? Chris.

Kevin is now road legal. Lots of niggles to sort out such as heater motor blower isn't working and speedo stops then starts again for no aparent reason.

First chap was from another branch, but seemed to think it was quite solid. Didn't dish out stacks of advisories? There were a few, but oddly less on the first test than on the re-test. Might have missed a sheet off the first test, I 'spose, but didn't want to cause any problems by asking. Had a reasonable run out to Wrotham today, where I met some fellow auto lovers from another forum. :-

SPLINTEX - now a Belgian company. GLACETEX - appears to have died without trace. Good fix on the fuel sender. Chris.
